Sometime this coming week, all sophomores must complete one of the following workouts—your choice. I would recommend the more advanced athletes go for the second option:
Option One: Helen
3 RFT:
400m run
21 kettlebell swings, 1.5/1 pood
12 pull-ups
Option Two: Cindy
As many rounds as possible in 20 minutes of:
5 pull-ups
10 push-ups
15 squats
Either post here or e-mail Mr.H. with which workout you did and your time.
15 I did this!
« Mandatory out-of-class WOD: Long Row Feb 5 | Team WOD: Bumpy 10K »
Helen – 9:11 (New PR)
Cindy – 19 rounds + 5 pullups
I was aiming for 20 rounds but didn’t quite make it. Morning WODs destroy me.
Helen
16:14 1.5 pood
Took it pretty easy on the runs due to shin splints. I used the 1.5 because the 1 is really easy. This was definitely tougher.
Helen 15:20
I did this work out twice. Yesterday for the first attempt at this workout I did jumping pull-ups and then remembered we can’t do those anymore so I did it again today. This was hard because I can’t do real pull-ups. I used the band for assistance. Still want to work on getting stronger and faster!
Helen 9.07
This is regression from my previous PR of 8.36 (set in the first couple of months of Freshman year).
When I started on the last round, the time was 5.21. About 40m into the last run, my entire lower back cramped up and I wound up walking the most of the rest of the run. The KBS were also really slow because my back wouldn’t uncramp.
I want to try this one again when I’m more mobile, so that I can actually get a new PR.
Cindy-13 rounds + 5 Pull up+2 pushups
Man, I thought I was going to at least hit 15 rounds. My first 6 rounds were all averaging a minute and then my arms died on the pushups. By the 9th round I was doing them in sets of 2. I do not like pushups.
Helen: 11:53 rx’d
Did this right after a bball game but still beat my previous time from the end of last year(15:30 with only 1pd). Really tired now.
Awesome improvement, Matthew! WOW.
Helen: 11:11
Nice workout, I think the rain and cold weather prompted me to run a lot faster.
Helen – time was somewhere between 10 and 15 minutes (stuff-up with the stopwatch)
Helen: 15:00min
I’m starting to get my pull-ups more. Repetition matters =)
CINDY – 19 Rounds – [Assisted Pull-Ups]
I used the band for the pull-ups. Dan Burns came in as I started and told me to do full body movements even with the band, which I knew that I should but kinda refrained from doing it. With his bit of advice it made the workout harder but I definitely more fulfilling when I completed it…
Thanks Dan 🙂
Great job, Gabby!
Cindy – 16 rounds + 5 pull ups
I too used the bands for this work out. I pushed hard the first half and then not so much on the second. It was a good workout, my arms were definitely feelin’ it.
ps: did this yesterday . . . 🙂
Hellen-10.44
This was a workout where I didn’t care what time I got, I just wanted to get it in and then get back to studying for midterms. So I didn’t stretch and had a cup of coffee about 15 minutes before I did it. Bad idea :S
I also did 15 pullups per round, not 12. Forgot how many I had to do.
I made a modified Cindy:
As many rounds as possible in 10 minutes:
10 push ups
20 squats
30 sit ups
My workout: 6 rounds … I’m not sure if this was good or if I didn’t push myself enough, I was watching a cooking channel at the time, so I might have been severely slowed down 🙂
