The deadlifts were not as hard as I thought they would be, which was nice. I completed two rounds and one lap. I have to work on my burpees and squats!
This freshman workout was cool. I loved learning about the deadlift and actually trying it. The heaviest i could lift was 125 lbs. it was such a cool experience! The burpees were intense. Really great workout!
The deadlift is actually helpful when we lift heavy things. If you have the proper form, there are less chances of injuring your back. woohoo! looking forward to our next PE class.
I need to work on my dead lifting technique! The cross-fit workout was fun but I was exhausted.
Yeah! 145!
Though, I do need to work on the burpees and squats. Looking forward to the next class.
I thought the deadlifts were great! Certainly good training. I was able to squeeze in three rounds of laps, squats and burpees.
I did 3 laps plus five burpees in 8 minutes. The deadlift was very practical and not as hard as it looked. Using the proper form, my back felt fine even after doing five repetitions at my maximum weight. I lifted a total weight of 115 lbs- sixteen pounds less than my body weight. Form is the hardest part for me to master.
I got 5 rounds in with the exact amount of time given. I did however substitute the two laps of running for burning 10 calories on the row machine, which was about how long it took for Michael to run around twice.
On a different note, I love that we spent an entire day on our form for deadlifting. That is a vital piece of knowledge that everyone needed to understand, and I can’t wait until we can start putting some weight on! It’s a great year to get strong. Let’s get it!
I really enjoyed the deadlift. It strengthens my entire back. I can bend over and not injure myself. The exercise is a great help for my work. Looking forward to our next PE session.
This workout was challenging, but also lot of fun. I was able to complete four laps plus five burpees. It amazes me how much of a workout only eight minutes can be if you’re disciplined. I learned that “not enough time” is not a valid excuse to skip workouts.
It was really neat learning the proper technique to deadlifting. The workout was pretty tough. I was only able to do 3 rounds plus 2 laps. The burpees were what really drained me. I decided to run and row on my day off. So glad PE is whipping us into shape.
I enjoyed the dead lifts even I don’t have a whole lot of upper body strength I enjoyed trying it. For the 8 minute thing I completed 3 rounds and then 4 burpees.
6 rounds in 8 minutes…
5 rounds of pure effort bro
You freshmen are getting after it! I love all these comments. Great positive energy. Let’s keep it going!
I loved getting to try out deadlifting again. I haven’t done it in a while but it’s nice to get back into it and learn the proper way to do them! My max was 95 lbs, and for the WOD I did 4 rounds, and finished another 2 laps.
I really enjoyed learning about deadlifts! That was the first time I’d done anything like that and I’m looking forward to improving and adding weight. I was able to complete 3 rounds and a lap in the 8 minutes. The part that drained me the most was definitely the burpees!

I did 3 cycles of this.
I running is the hardest part but it feels so good afterwards.
I have to say, I am glad to be done with benchmarks for another few months. 😀 Looking forward to seeing improvement at the end of the year!
I can’t remember how many rounds I did, but I really enjoyed this workout. Exhausting…
Great job everyone! I had five rounds.
