Well done! Running for that long is a great mental workout! All the best for the marathon. FYI, I believe Mr. SEF’s time when he was 18-19 was 3:46 for the 26.2 miles. Mine was 4:12. Had he told me about his time BEFORE I ran, I might have pushed myself a little harder (which may have killed me). I didn’t want you to not know before you ran, in case that gives you a little extra motivation 🙂
Thanks! 🙂
I’m hoping to get sub-4 hours.
If I maintained my pace from yesterday for 8 more miles I’d finish around 3:40.
We shall see! This is definitely uncharted territory for me.
The longest I’d ever run before yesterday was 10 miles.
That was about 17 years ago.
Yep… 4 hours was my goal as well. I was on track easily till mile 20. That is when my body decided it no longer liked me. Got cramps in my hips and my knees, the actual joints. From then on it was a waddle till the finish line! I’m sure you are in better shape than I was… your body will hold up.
All the best!

It hurt, but I still had plenty of juice in the tank.
This really helped my confidence for the marathon … three weeks!

My PR for 26.2 is 4:15… Kudos to your for your seemingly attainable sub-4:00 goal!
Correction 🙂
My PR is 4:08:28. (I take too many bathroom breaks.)
