Before doing this WOD, please review this video on proper deadlift technique and form. I’ve seen some ugly and unsafe deadlifting outside of class! Remember to keep that bar close to your body and your lumbar curve solid throughout the movement. Be just as careful on the descent as on the pull—don’t let the bar pull you down. You must keep your back safe! Doing this workout at 50% of where you are in the Wendler cycle will give you an opportunity to practice that safe form under a substantial but not crushing load.
AMRAP in 8 min:
7 Deadlifts, 50% of current Wendler 4RM
35 Double Unders
2 rounds plus 7 dl and 3 double-unders. Dead lifts at 135#. I got the first set of 35 double-unders but the second time i was messing up the timing so it slowed me down. It was more tiring than expected.
3 rounds – 355 deadlift. I obviously need a lot more work on the double-unders – I do think I had a pr set of about 10 in a row though
Chris–did you actually have 355 on the bar for the deadlifts, or did you do 50% of 355?
You are a beast!
Congrats on the double-unders!
Did one round in 13 min, (did not hear my timer beep at 8 min). Choose this workout b/c I needed work on double-unders. I think I really need to work on on keeping my elbows in instead of flying out like a chicken.
