With a long weekend, you’ll need to do two out-of-class workouts before class next Wednesday. Here they are:
For all: For time (3 points):
Walking Lunge, 100 m
Run, 800 m
100 Air Squats
Freshmen: (3 points)
AMRAP—work three minutes, rest one minute, work three, rest one, work three (workout takes 11 minutes total):
6 walking lunges (3 each leg)
6 mountain climbers (L+R=1)
6 medball deadlifts (30/20)
Begin each new work period with a new set of lunges.
Try to get the same score on all three rounds, or even improve in rounds 2 and 3.
Also: Five hollow body holds of 30 seconds. Rest as needed between holds (1 point)
Sophomores: Choose—tough:
DVB (4 points) — For time:
Run 1 mile with a 20-lb. medicine ball (women 14)
Then, 8 rounds of: 10 wall-ball shots, 1 rope ascent
Run 800 meters with a 20-lb. medicine ball
Then, 4 rounds of: 10 wall-ball shots, 1 rope ascent
Run 400 meters with a 20-lb. medicine ball
Then, 2 rounds of: 10 wall-ball shots, 1 rope ascent
Could put a 40-minute cap on this, or do half the work—800m, 4 rounds; 400m, 2 rounds, 200m 1 round (for 2 points)
Or—easier (2 points):
10-min. AMRAP:
10 Kettlebell swings (72/53 lbs)
10 Burpees
And: Five hollow body holds of 30 seconds; rest as needed (1 point)
I did the WOD for all. This really worked out the legs. I was definitely feeling it by the air squats! My time for this was 11:21:)
WOD (for all): 6:34, Rx’d
WOD for all. I’m not certain what the time was but it was around 12 minutes. The easiest part of this workout was definitely the running. Overall an enjoyable workout. It sounded daunting but it wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be.
Whoaaaa the WOD for all made my legs literally like jello!!! It hurt so good!
Sophomores (First One): 28:26 Rx’d

AMRAP WOD: The first time I did four complete sets with an extra round of lunges. The second and third time, I did five complete sets. I was also able to complete the hallow bodies.
I did this workout with Alyssa and Ariana:)
WOD for all, about 12 minutes.
Easier Soph WOD: 5 rounds plus kettlebells and five burpees.
For time: 11:10. I did this on Thursday after Wednesday’s squat workout, and my legs were definitely feeling it.
AMRAP: 15.5 rounds (5, 5, 5.5).
Freshmen AMRAP: 2;3 1/2;3
For time: 24:40
For the AMRAP, I got 7 full rounds plus 6 deadlifts and 6 mountain-climbers.
For Time I got 13:42
The boys and I did the WOD for all yesterday after handstand walk practice and a short warmup. This has always been one of my favorite go-to workouts when I have minimal time to commit to the gym.
I remember doing three rounds of this one on the soccer field one July with my husband years ago…that really hurt. 🙂
Did 12 rounds( 6 in the first round and 6 in the second round) in 11 minutes! The workout for all was fun. I finished it in 11 mins. and 56 seconds.
The workout for all was killer! Got 11:40. Don’t remember how many for AMRAP but I can feel the pain and gains! Have to keep going strong bros and gals!
I completed the 11 minute WOD with walking lunges, med-ball deadlifts, and mountain climbers. It was rough, but the rest time was what got me through it.
I ran the 800m, did 100m of walking lunges, and 100 squats in 11:24. I never let myself pause, so I’m happy I fulfilled that goal.
I finished this in about 12 minutes. I my legs feel like jelly, but they feel great.
Finished the WOD with the 800 m run in 8:40, minus half the lunges due to my toe.
It was a good workout, but could’ve stepped up in the squat department after seeing Mr.Burns go to town today.
Took me 11:50 on the WOD for all. Squats at the end were probably the hardest/longest part. On the freshman WOD I did 17 sets in 11 minutes (around 6 sets for every 3 minutes).
SO much camaraderie in this Freshman class; I love seeing it! It translates nicely in the gym when doing hard things.
Way to push the guys by your example, Mr. Burns.
The one for freshman felt really easy at the start, but by the end was extremely hard. I really loved the one for all, although the lunges were intense!
My favorite part of the AMRAP was the med ball deadlift. My time for this was 11 min and 15 sec. My time for the one For all was 21 min and 7 secs.
