What a success! Congrats to everyone who participated in the 2015 OKC Memorial Marathon. Over a quarter of the HWAC student body ran in it, along with both of your P.E. instructors and a handful of others from the local congregation. Post thoughts and results in comments below.
Also, here is a recovery WOD for you to do today. Perform each movement with light to medium weight. This is NOT a timed workout. It is a recovery workout to get you moving again:
- Glute Ham Developer Sit-ups: 3 x 15
- Glute Ham Developer Hip Extensions: 3 x 15
- Kettlebell/Dumbbell Swings: 3 x 15
- Bench Press: 3 x 15
- Pull-ups: 3 x 15
That was great fun! Way to go students!
I finished the half-marathon in 1:37:01, for average 7:25 miles.
That was 10 seconds slower per mile, and two minutes slower overall, than my goal. I’ll take it.
I came in 129th place out of 9,389 half-marathoners. 112th out of 3,477 males. 23rd out of 1,477 masters competitors. 11th out of 388 men age 40-44.
Nice work!
This was absolutely wonderful! I had such a great time and an easy recovery thanks to all the training we had.
My time was 1:56:18.Out of the 9389, that’s 1119. Very happy. A little frustrating as my goal was to make 1:55 and starting in the D corral didn’t help, but it was a great run, the weather was beautiful. Thanks for organising this event Mr. Hilliker and Mr. Burns!
