Today was the first time I tried to run a mile. I was so nervous before running; but, I made it to the end. I am not the best athlete so it was a very big struggle. I realized just how much your mind can have an effect on your running. I am glad that I finished to the end and look forward to trying even harder next time to be more consistent with my running.
I thoroughly enjoyed the rowing machine! That was my favorite benchmark to do.
Awesome Katelynn! Way to stick with it! Terrific job today.
My numbers today:
250m row: 42.6 (PR)
1 mile run: 5:47.5 (PR)
The mile run of this workout was the biggest struggle for me, but after it was over, I noticed how much I was sweating. While some of that was probably from the Oklahoman sun, it made me realize that I previously hadn’t really been exerting myself and that I can still push myself even harder. I’m really excited for future workouts, so I can see how much I can really do if I mentally push myself; I know that I’m going to develop a much stronger mind, as well as body, in this class.
You’re *so* right–that so much of the battle is mental!
2K row: 7:18.1
This workout was extremely challenging, but at the same time really fun! I have tried running a mile before, but I haven’t ever made a time as good as I did in class! I enjoyed rowing; it’s such a fun workout, and when you get done you really feel like you’ve physically accomplished something, while not feeling totally winded:)
I aimed to get under seven minutes for the mile. Unfortunately, I didn’t quite make it. 7:06. I think I need to push harder on the third lap. Hopefully at the end of the semester I can achieve my goal! I am looking forward to CrossFit this year!!
2K row – 8:51.
Mile 9:22. Whoops I am 10 seconds slower than my April mile.
250 row – 51.9
2k row -8:18
Push-ups -1 whew
Friday was a really challenging class. Running a mile had been something I was very, very slowly working up to, so to do it all in one go and see that I could do it in 4 minutes less than last time was very encouraging! Rowing was definitely my favorite part. It was easy to tune out and focus on just the movements instead of how much longer I had to go.
