Tabata “Bottom to Bottom” Squat
Run 1 mile
Clock starts for run on rising from last squat.
The Tabata Bottom to Bottom Squat is a Tabata Squat, but each rep begins at the bottom and ends at the bottom. The turn around at the top is immediate – no pause. The 10-second rest for each interval is also held at the bottom of the squat as opposed to the top. Interestingly, this squat, in contrast to the “normal” Tabata squat, motivates full hip extension. Also, the 10-second rests don’t seem as short with this protocol!
Record least number of squats during a 20-second period and time on the mile.
1 mile – 6:50
Great job guys
9 squats was my lowest
6:32–mile
Shout out to Joel Price
I had a total of 63 squats (I only counted all together) and for the mile I got 7:54
my lowest squat count was 8. My time was 9:35
1 mile run was 6:40
my lowest squat count was 7…
I’ve always liked this workout and the way my legs feel in the run after those B2B squats. I found this WOD posted on BTWB. There, the scoring was done this way:
Subtract lowest # of squats done in a round from the mile time. (E.g. 6:06 mile, 10 squats in worst round = 5:56 total time)
With that method, my time for the workout was 7:21.
